Mikayla Domingo is a family law associate at Moradi Neufer LLP whose practice centers on child custody and child support in the San Francisco Bay Area. A strong and attentive advocate, she tailors her work to the specific needs of each client and their family, and she takes particular care to keep clients well-informed, giving them the tools to make sound decisions through the often-emotional challenges of custody and divorce. Working alongside the firm’s partners and senior attorneys, she supports clients through every stage of litigation with a client-centered, guidance-first approach.
Much of Mikayla’s focus is on the parenting questions that matter most to Bay Area families: establishing and modifying custody and visitation, and adjusting child support when a family’s circumstances change. Because a shift in the parenting schedule can affect an existing support order, she helps clients understand how California calculates support, gather the right financial information, and, with the firm’s team, weigh factors such as a co-parent’s earning capacity, so any request to the court is grounded and well-prepared. She also brings a genuine commitment to serving clients from underrepresented communities, including LGBTQ+ families navigating parentage. During her judicial externship at Legal Services for Children (LSC) in the guardianship division, she provided legal assistance and advocacy to underrepresented communities, and that experience informs how she works today, alongside the firm’s family law attorneys, with same-sex couples and non-biological parents seeking to secure and protect their parental rights in California, particularly where only one partner has a biological connection to the child.
Mikayla earned her Juris Doctor from the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings), and completed her undergraduate studies in Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining Moradi Neufer, she practiced family law at a boutique firm in San Francisco. During law school she served as Co-Executive Articles Editor for the Science and Technology Law Journal, was a member of the Family Law Students Association, and was chosen as the speaker for her graduating class.
